Jeti makes one of the easiest-to-use brushless motor controllers with the most features. It is very easy for you to set up the different functions. The controllers automatically detect the number and type of batteries to set the low voltage motor cut off point even for Lithium batteries.
The user adjustable functions are:
Brake Off - Turn on transmitter, move throttle stick to "full" wait and hear 4 tones. Close throttle. This setting is used by power plane flyers: the prop will free wheel when throttle is closed. And, when you select the "Brake Off", the motor cutoff at low battery voltage will be gradual. This gives you adequate warning so you can make a safe landing. Brake On - Turn on transmitter, move throttle stick to "full" wait and hear 4 tones. Close throttle. This setting is used by powered gliders flyers to make the prop fold. This is a non-linear brake that is suitable for use even with gearboxes. When the "Brake On" setting is chosen, the low voltage motor cutoff is hard. When low voltage is reached the prop stops and the brake is applied. After reducing the throttle to off, partial power can be restored by reopening the throttle. Soft Timing - Turn on transmitter, move throttle stick to "full", wait and hear 5 single beeps. Close throttle. This is the setting for 2,4,6 pole motors and maximum efficiency timing of about 0 degrees. Hard Timing - Turn on transmitter, move throttle stick to "full", wait and hear 5 double beeps. Close throttle. For "outrunner" type motors and motors that have a large number of poles. This setting gives optimum timing for these types of motors to give good starting and smooth throttle response.
The automatic features are:
1. Automatic low voltage cut off with auto detection of number and type of cells. 2. Automatic safety cut off for Lithium Poly cells (2.56V per cell). 3. Automatic calibration of high and low throttle stick position to give smooth full-range throttle response. 4. Automatic current limiting that will allow the current to your motor to exceed the normal level by about 5 Amps before cutting off.
